INSPIRATIONS

Inspiration can come from so many unique adventures and experiences.  James had been driven to serve his first tour by his physical abilities and his thrill seeking adventurous nature.  He had seen third world countries on television but was profoundly changed having seen it up close and personal.  He returned for his second tour for his buddies and the children of Afghanistan.  When asked many times why or not to go, his reply was either, "It's the right thing to do." and or "Someone has to do it."  The military is not necessarily for everyone, but for him soldiering balanced his life in so many ways and was fitting and becoming of him.  He was proud to be Canadian and prouder still to be a Canadian Soldier!

Losing James was one of those unique experiences that changed and touched the lives of so many people.  We continue to hear from and meet people that knew James.  James and his mother once chuckled about a cartoon caption that read, "Strangers are friends you have yet to meet!"  James lived and breathed that concept.  He used to bring his friends home all the time for his mother to meet and he is still doing that for her through this foundation and her experiences since his death.  Whatever your inspirations stem from, we encourage you to harness the energy and passion your inspiration creates within your heart and execute it through an extraordinary experience.  We look forward to hearing from you!

AN ANGEL OF COURAGE!

The logo designed by Wendy Hayward was inspired through the many pictures of James as a young boy and through to adulthood, he would hold his arms up as if to embrace and hug the world.  Shortly after James' death a close and dear friend of Wendy's, Karen Kozyra visited Wendy with a gift shown on the right of a Willow Tree Angel; The Angel of Courgae!

James continues to inspire his mother!   In so many ways!

We'd like to take a moment here and thank those "strangers" that stay in touch and support James' foundation.  They prove to be inspirational and we take great comfort in hearing from them. Below is a recent end of a letter received by another mother in BC.

Dear Wendy,

... I'm enclosing a poem I wrote for you on this occation of Jim's birth.  You never forget the first time you see your child.  Take comfort that Jim is right beside you.  His love shines through.

Affectionately,

Maureen

A mother remembers her tiny son.  When they lay him in her arms as his first day on earth has begun.

A mother remembers her little boy.  As he rides his bike down the hill with shrieks of joy.

A mother remembers her big gangling teen.  As he dashes off with his pals to play on his team.

A mother remembers her soldier son in uniform as he marches with comrades as his side.  Her heart is torm with love and pride.

A mother remembers...
